We had an appointment for Walter today where he weighed in at 19 lbs 14 oz! This is actually quite a bit less than I thought. He is now in the 25 percentile where he was when he was born. he is 29.25 inches long which is in the 80 percentile! He is ahead in many skills and the doctor was pleased where he was at with everything.
During his appointment the nurses tried to draw some blood, they put the rubber band around his arm and later his leg to try and find a vein. They didn't find one they were comfortable poking so they sent us to the lab. I was glad they did that because at the lab they only had to do a toe prick to get the blood. We needed to draw blood because in his newborn genetic screening a blood disorder called alfaphalassema came up, so they start testing him at 9 months to see how it is doing and how it is affecting him. While at the lab they put a warmer on his toe to try and get the blood there, he was so cute playing and sucking on it trying to get it off.
