18 months old!

A couple of days ago my baby turned 18 months old!  Anybody who knows me knows I lack patience, all I have to say I have never been more aware of this trial in my life.  Walter requires so much patience right now.  I still haven't figured out how someone so tiny can have so much control of my mental and physical well being.  Plain and simple he wears me out!  Thankfully he has a sweet side, and just when I need it most he brings me his blankie and rubs it on my cheek and then rubs my back.  Seriously after something that touching you cant help but to kiss him and just keep on going Ok enough on that note, Walter has a few favorite things right now.  As always blankie and thumb are at the top of his list, followed closely by spending time and doing exactly what his Daddy is doing, He is so amazed with stickers, and his current favorite book is good night gorilla, and He is in love with fruit snacks grapes and cheese sticks!
We now have artwork hanging around our house from our little one, too fun!
Reading " good night gorilla" it surprises me how much he loves it because it has a total of maybe 20 words and the rest of the story is told through the pictures.

Walter has a bigger rocking horse that he got for Christmas, but he is back to his little one because he can really make it buck!  And  he loves picking it up and taking from one spot to the next.

Walter loves when Daddy gets home and hardly leaves his side.  He has figured out when  Daddy gets after him he can cry to mama and vice versa.  I have to say after playing bad cop all day i do love him coming to me for comfort.

Just as much as Walter loves his rocking horse nobody is safe on their hands and knees without giving a horsie ride.  Jason is such a good sport!  I feel so bad when  we get with his best friend Khloe or Baby Conn both who are still crawling and  are a little too inviting for Walter to resist playing horsie! sorry guys

Walters two favorite spots are in the swimming pool and at the park!
So the last 6 1/2 months have been a long journey as far as Walter getting sick with RSV and the croup.  He has had five major episodes with two resulting in emergency room visits and each one having to be treated with a dose of steroids.  We have endured many many breathing treatments with absolutely no positive results.  A cough that has seriously not gone away since the first episode dec. 13 2011.  It  gets much worse after each episode and then slightly gets better until the next time.  After the third time we went to allergy specialists with no improvements even after more medicine. In all fairness his doctors have been great and taken it all serious, but at times I want to stand on a mountaintop and scream" This is not normal, it is not ok, and I am not going to wait for him to outgrow it so please somebody help me to get this baby feeling better."  After his fifth episode his doctor looked me in the eye and told me that this was not normal, that this was not ok and we were going to get to the bottom of it.  Oh sweet music to this mama's ears!  He recommended we start with an ENT, and if nothing worked out there he would refer us to a specialist in Denver.  So last Monday we took him back to doctor Johnson who had clipped his tongue.  And after he listened  patiently to my detailed account of the winter and all we had gone through.  He simply asked if Walter was premature?  When I answered yes he told me he knew right where to start looking for the problem.  We were sent for x-rays on his throat, which were an absolute nightmare.  So tomorrow we go in to get the results, and if he doesnt see what he thinks he will than Walter will be put under and the doctor will do a scope down his throat to look closer for basically a "narrowed airway"  Which is a very common problem in preemies.  How well he grew it is so very easy to forget he joined us a little ahead of schedule.  So wish us luck and keep us in your thoughts as we continue this journey!  Love ya Walter Baby
